I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas? I want to polish up my upper intake manifold on my 98' 2.5L but I dont have any tools that will reach up into the runners. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for making tools or maybe buying something. Or is buying a high speed grinder my only option? Please let me know if you've had any experience with this.

I think www.eastwoodcompany.com makes a few tools for polishing intakes. I aslo believe that the have things for honnig also. I saw a custom set on hp tv, but i can't think of the name right now. If it comes to me I will put it up.

another option, although more expensive but does yeild very good results is extrud honing. you have to ship out your parts , but it really smothes the passages and gets rid of excess material.

One thing you might look at is a brake master cylinder hone...they are available with a long flexible shaft, and would be good for polishing the intake passages...

Found a couple of links you might find useful...
http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.htm talks about how to use their porting kit, and http://www.sr20de.net/faq/articles/head.tech.html is a fairly technical treatise on air flow through an engine...very good for anyone who's attempting a home porting job to read through.
