the engine sizes for mazda trucks are the same as for ford trucks for the MY01 right??? 2.5L, 3.0L, and 4.0L?? 2001 model year??

that's funny, i thought that was the case. but i was on Mazda's website yesterday, and low and behold they show the B-Series trucks as having the 2.3 engine the 3.0 engine and the 4.0. i thought they stopped putting the 2.3 in the ranger/bseries in 97 and then they moved on to the 2.5. i was pretty sure about this, so i called mazda and told them that they had a descrepency on their website and the lady that i talked to said that she would forward this information to Corporate. but as of today, it is still the same on the website. check it out for yourself. 2300 2.3L DOHC engine as the base engine.....

2.3 SOHC since way back..

2.5 SOHC thru 12/00 changed mid-year-my 01 B-Series brochure
lists the 2.3 DOHC as avail after Dec. 00

The 2001 brochure I have shows that the B2300 was available starting December 2000 as a DOHC version. It doesn't say anything about the B2500 being discontinued though.

2.3 DOHC - 140 hp.
2.5 SOHC - 119 hp.
3.0 OHV - 150 hp.
4.0 SOHC - 207 hp.

WOW! all this is news to me... i didn't know they started putting the 2.3L back in there.. and a DOHC at that. this isn't the 2.3 that was in there from 93-97 is it??? i'm gonna have to trade my truck in :nuts:

It may be the same block as the old 2.3, but this one has 16 valves plus the DOHC's. That thing should wind like a banshee.
