Since there are no kits for "plug and play" wiring on the '98 - up Rangers, has anyone tried or thought about using an older engine that is carburated and doesn't have this computer sheeit? I am thinking of trying it because this pansy a$$ed 3.0L just don't cut it. Thoughts, sugesstions?

Thanx

Well as far as plug and play mine was anything but, we had to re-wire the whole truck, going to a carb would be easy and cut out a lot of the bs, and be much cheaper besides. I don't see where that would be a problem unless you live in a state where they inspect. Here in ND you could get away with it no problema.

To the best of my knowledge, Michigan does not require inspections either. I live in Jersey, but the truck is registered and insured in MI. What, if any, computer crap would you have to keep to have the truck running and on the road?

Thanx
