console out of a 99 chevy tahoe bought it on ebay for 40 bucks
it fits perfectly to the contours of the floor and has a lot of cup holders for front and back seats too
it fits so good that most people think its original

That's a sweet truck Bdroped! Welcome to the Mazda gang too. Tell us a little more about the truck, I know you've got a lot more on there than meets the eye. :)

yes actually i just got first in my class at a regional car show near me. and it was the first one iv been to. the third pic is from the show. it was kinda funny because they put me in a compact import truck class along with all the nissans and toyotas. tried to tell em it wasnt an import
anyway to answer a few q's the seats are outa 95 mustang lx
painted all the original parts and front valence my self and used some black window screen to make my own blackouts for the amber turn signals. the others are just fog lights
had to make my own grill and you cant really tell but its lowered about 3/4. havin the usual vibration problems though and have shims on order.
later.

Easy to post pics Rob 99. Just hit the new thread button at the top or bottom of the page, look down below the smilies where it says Attach file:, hit the browse button and find the pic on your computer that you want to post. To do more, just hit the reply button and follow the same process. I was going to explain this to Bdroped in a post further down, see that he found out how. :)

Notice there is a limit on size.

You may have a lower resolution setting on your camera that would let you take smaller size pics, but that won't help on the ones you already have. Most of the software that comes with a digital camera has an option for resizing the photo, look in one of the tools menus. To get it small enough to post when you have 324K to begin with, you're going to have to reduce it by about 50%. Here's a link to a good free viewer/editor called IrfanView. Just remember to save it as something else after you've resized it.

looks great. gives all of us some ideas for our interiors. Since you painted the front valence you should go for the grill and bumper inserts too.

The one shown on Ebay is listed as being tan/beige. Yours looks light gray, but the pic on ebay looks like the same color as yours. Do you know if they are the same color? The interior of mine is about the same as yours, so I would need a light gray one.

They've also got shipping listed at $22, which sounds kind of steep.

Here's the pic off Ebay if someone wants to compare the color.

How easy is it to install that console and what years of the Tahoe will fit in??

Bdroped
Jul 27 2001, 12:23am
well as far as i know mine is a grey color,m dont think its really tan as in that ebay pic and i think they come out of any 96 or newer tahoe, suburban, silverado...
the install that i did initially was to just simply leave it unbolted between the seats for easy cleaning and such but it would always slide forward or back so i bolted it to the floor
i am also planing on using it to house a cd changer

also i just wanted to say thanks for all the compliments
later,
mike

I meant to ask before, but did you do something to your door panels and shifter console? They have a shiny/bluish look to them.

Which valance are you wondering about? The one on spode's is a 4x4 valance. I think the one on bdroped is factory.

The grill inserts on both are made from gutter guard, the stuff you get at Home Depot or Lowes to keep leaves out of your rain gutters. Lots of people on here have done that, costs you about $3 and some silicone or epoxy to attach it to the grill frame.

Welcome to the Mazda board. :)

Hey man I noticed your speakers in your door panels are exposed.. How did you do this? are they 6x8's? And how did you cut the holes out of your door and make the speakers fit correctly? I was wanting to do this to my truck but didnt know how? could you please instruct me on this? because the rattling of the doors and the window cranks kill me!!! thankz man :cussing:

well actually the speakers are pioneer 6x8's and all i did was remove the cloth like mesh on the back side of the door panels. i know from that pic it looks like they are exposed but they are still behind the door panels in the original speaker mounts.

i just got my truck back from the shop and had the grill color matched
i have to get my grill insert back on and then il put up some pics when its clean
