do drop i-beams create any additional clearance problems when installing a v8? also, are dream beams strong enough to support the heavier engine? 5.0 or 5.8.

Nope drop beams don't cause a problem. I've got them on my B2 with the 5.0. In fact, Mark Ford has 3" beams on his Splash with the 347 stroker. I think though I would stick with the true Ibeams and not the dream beams, but that's just my opinion.

I don't have any problems with my 3" beams.

You said that is OK with the 3" drop How about slamed '93 splash with air bags? Do you think there's no problems if I drop a V8 in the engine bay of that one?

thanks.

clear lighted
snug top toneau cover

As long as the oil pan doesn't hang below the engine crossmember, and it shouldn't, you'll be fine to do what your wallet allows. :)
