I have given up on this ****ing A4LD. It has spent more time in the tranny shop these last three weeks than I have been driving it. 3 TRIPS!! Trying to find where it is leaking. It is still under warranty though (12/12). I decided a couple of months ago I wanted to go 5 spd though. BUT, I am almost 99.99% sure that the mazda tranny won't take the torque. The solution? A Mustang v8 world class t5!!

Here are the parts I have so far: (and prices paid)
3.0 to toyokoygo bellhousing-$50
world class t5- $100
clutch and brake pedal assembly(with master and resevoir)- $25

Parts I need: (and prices to be paid)
new input, counter, and 5th gear, master kit for t5-$405
machined aluminum adapter plate for bell to t5- ;)
machine off back of toyo bell-;)
clutch, disc, throwout, pilot for SVO Mustang(9.25" and a direct fit on the 3.0 flywheel!!) and resurface flywheel- $150
Thunderbird Turbo coupe external slave cylinder- ??
shifter-??

Hope to have it in some time in September. Machine shop is kind of busy.

please, for the love of our trucks, keep us posted on this. the one thing i'm worried most about is the trans falling out as i hit the gas after the X-mas tree flashes that green light!!

Now this sounds like a transmission that can handle a supercharged Vulcan.

For those wondering the supercharger increases torque substantianly making manual transmission overhaul a regular item. Maybe not as regular as an automatic, but still Much too often.

Keep us posted on this ... a very interesting project.

The machine shop is supposed to have my adapter plate done this week!

I stopped and bought the clutch kit, pivot ball, clutch fork, bellhousing gasket, and external slave ;) and had the flywheel resurfaced last night. All that for the paltry fee of $250. I am supposed to start reassembling my bro-in-laws 460 this wknd, so maybe labor day wknd I can work on the swap to the t5.:E
