Hey,
Can anyone tell me some companies who make lowering kits for a '87 Bronco II?? I really need them to finish my truck off. I haven't found any lowering kits for them so i figured i would ask someone else. And if anyone can tell me some cool tips or tricks that i can do to get more power or more style that would help me out alot.

Chassis Tech is the only comapny that makes a lowering kit for the B2s. The best thing to do would be to do what I did, find a CT dealer and get the beams from them. And if you want more power, again do what I did drop in a 5.0.

No Ranger beams will NOT work on a B2. I thought they would also and bought Ranger beams only to find out they wouldn't fit. You have to get beams to fit a B2 and Chassis Tech is the only place that makes them. They'll run you between $500-$600. I've got the 3" drop beams in front and a 5" flip kit in the back.

I got mine from a chassis tech dealer also. The first time I called the guy told me they cost $575 and i told him that was to high and he asked me if anyone else had given me a price and i said yes, $500 and he said that he would give me that deal. So, I immediatly called back and talked to a different operator and told him I found some for 425 and in the end I got them for 450 shipping included. I just called all of the cassis tech dealers in my M/T mag until i found the lowest price. hehe. As for beefing up the 2.9 you can get everything from forged pistons, cams, perfomance heads, free floating rocker arm assemblies, performance ignition components, headers, flowmasters, or you can do low budget things like yanking the upper and lower intakes and porting and match them up for the cost of a gasket set and a grinding bit along with painting them while you have them off you get the benifit of looks and performance all at the price of time and a small amount of money.
On mine I have a K&N cone filter, ported and matched upper and lower intake, camcraft cam, 30 series flowmaster(great sound), a JET chip, and some other stuff but the thing i noticed the biggest improvment out of was the the came. It also cost more. A great site to visit for 2.9 performance is Camcraftcams.com If you need and additional info let me know. As for body modifications I have a 3/4 drop, splash wheels with 225/50/15's, shaved emblems and spare tire mount, 99 ford explorer front bumper cover(soon to have pics up), explorer grill(direct fit, mine is an 89)and it is Orion silver. it used to have graphics but I wrecked it and you can imagine trying to get the new graphics to line up with old graphics, so i just went with a solid color.

Thanks for your help! I just got my B2 and i was just wonderin what i could get for it. I haven't ordered anything for mine yet but i am gonna try and get some pics of it before i start and pics when i am in the process of doin it. Thanks for you help i'm gonna call chassis tech and see what they can give me. Also will any 5 lug rims fit my B2?? I was just wonderin. I'm kinda new to these vehicles. I had a GN and that was easy to find parts for but my B2 it's kinda hard but it's fun. Thanks for the help! :) Oh yeah i seen this somewhere and just wanted to post it. So check it out! I hope it never happens to my B2!
You can use a ranger lowering kit if you have a 2 wheel drive bronco 2 or if you can get a ranger front cross member from a junk yard.

You cannot use the ranger lowering kit with a 2 wheel drive bronco 2 the ibeams are different. I was told the same thing so I bought the ranger beams because the were cheaper and when I put them on my 2wd b2 the camber could be corrected the the caster was horrible and could not be corrected because it was so bad. If your gonna lower a b2 be sure to get the chassis tech ibeams that are made specifically for the bronco II's.
Sorry, I stand corrected. I was under the assumption that 2wd Bronco 2's had the same front suspension. Question: are they different because of the horizontal struts? Does anyone know why they are different?

They are different because of Fords genius design team. Instead of doing the logical thing and basing the 2wd B2s off the 2wd Rangers, they based them off the 4x4 Rangers. So the crossmembers under B2s are pretty much the same as 4x4 Ranger crossmembers so that's why 2wd Ranger beams won't work.
I guess that ranks right up there with the fake transfer case.
