Trying to find a new pair of Amps, but cant decide on which ones to get, any suggestions? I need a sub amp for my 4 10inch Orion XTR DVCs, and another amp to run my mids and highs, which is currently a 5 1/4 MB Quart component set, and another pair of orion 1inch tweets, I will probably add another set of components later on, anyone have any suggestions? Was thinking of getting a pair of Precision power amps, maybe a PC250 For my mids and highs, but not sure what to get for the subs.

I think you need to first determine what resistance you plan on running your subs at. 4 ohms, 2 ohms, series, parallel, series/parallel, etc... then from there that should narrow it down a little. (as to what your choices of amp are) Do you know what the impedance of the speakers you have is? I don't know much about Orion's, are they dual voice coil? It is imprtant to match the impedance of the amp;s output to the speakers. ie. if you have 2, 4ohm speakers the impedance would be 8 ohms if wired in series and 2 ohms if wired in parallel. If they are dual VC, it makes things a little tricky. Sorry I really didn't answer your question and I don't know if you know this or not, it is just important information so you don't blow up your new investment. By the way I like my PPI amps.

Not suggesting this is the best for your situation or not, but Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com) has Infinity Beta Digital 100 Amps for EXTREMELY cheap!!! They are 400 x 1 or 100 x 2. List price is $650, on sale for $230 or $199 (in the outlet) section. These amps are fully digital and I have mine pushing a Infinity Perfect 12.1 Sub (12") and it never ever even barely gets warm and its tucked back in one of the Xtra Cab seat pockets so doesn't get much airflow. Just wanted to give you a heads up, I'd recommend these amps to anyone since I've got one. Infinity Digital equipment is very good IMHO.

They are dual 4ohm voice coil subs, if I run them in parallel I can get a 2ohm load out of them. PPI Amps are 2ohm stable so I will probably go with them.

I`d personnally be a little leary of PPI right now. They are up for sale again(along with Orion and ADS). The Autotek SX-2300 is an awesome amp for that setup Scott. We`ve done several XTR/Autotek systems and they always sound good together.

Well if I do go with PPI, I will not purchase there new line of equipment, I heard its entry lvl stuff that sounds like Crap, but My experience with the 97-99 models was awesome. As for the Autotek line, I have never heard them before, what would you recommend for my subs / mids and highs? I might just give them a try.

Hey there, I edited this post, I just took a look at that model amp you were speaking of, and it seems to be pretty sweet. I was wondering would that be good for my whole setup, or just the subs? I was also looking into that Autotek SX-275 for my mids and highs. But the one concern I have is with the Size, they look kind of big, do you know the dimensions on those? couldnt find any info regarding that. Thanks
