i bought one for 30 bux shipped today.. how much should i expect to pay for installation?

I just had a transgo kit installed on Monday at AAMCO. It cost 275.00 plus tax. That included the kit, installation, new filter, and fluid change. They also checked out the rest of the tranny and said it was in good condition. I like the kit a lot. It gives a lot more control and firmer shifts. I like the fact that I can control when it shifts, even though it is an automatic.

How do you control the shifts?
Do you give it gas and let off??:confused: or....

I can see firmmer shifts but controlling them....
I've had mine for about a week and I will probably install sometime this week if I'm not to lazy when I get home from work

It shouldn't be very hard , just take your time.
I don't believe anything is fly out at ya, but work slow

Yep, you will have to drill. The drill bit was included in my kit.
It's just one small hole though. I don't blame you if drilling makes you nervous. It makes me nervous too.

Just work slow...

If you go to RangerBills web site he has some info on the shift kit install that will help you out. TYhere is one small hole you have to drill for the kit, they give you a bit and the directions are pretty good for where to drill. Overall the directions are ok and it is a fairly easy install. About the only thing you will not be able to do is the center support section as it requires you to pull the tranny out of the truck and pull the front pump.
Hope this helps ya out. It took me about 1.5 hrs to do the install myself.
