Igot a 95 stang motor that im putting a carb on, my ? is can i use the distributor off this motor or do i need a new one? I f Ineed a new one wich one do I need? tnx:confused:

you will need a distributor that is compatable with your ignition system (the TFI ignition module will not work unless you have the efi computer and harness). Your distributor will need a gear that also matches the cam (roller cams use a different gear than flat tappet cams). As most carbed motors used flat tappet cams you will need to locate a distributor to match your ignition system (MSD, duraspark, ect) and install the correct gear.

On the same subject, has anyone tried the Pertronix HEI style distributor? It sounds like a good setup for a carb. One wire hook up.

i am not so sure that i would go with HEI, i have read that they aren't that great in the upper rpm range, but then again if you are driving on the street, i guess you wouldn't dwell in the upper rpm range much:E
