I am selling my 2000 Ranger with a 4.0 in it and getting a 98 Explorer with a 4.0. I bought a chip I think from Truck performance and was wondering if the chip will fit the Explorer also. Does anyone know since they are both 4.0 engines?

No it won't work because of the ECU codes. You need another chip for the Explorer since its got a different code than the Ranger's. Sorry to burst your bubble bud.

You don't need another chip. You just need to get the old one flashed with the ex's computer code. What kind of chip is it?
