Ok, guys I just painted my 93 splash grille and its on my truck now. Came out great thank's to my dads gun. Now, I have a can of duplicolor clear coat, should I spray it on? Is there anything I can do to protect the grille, and it keep as shiny as it is now?
It was painted wiht acrlyic enamel.

I did an enamel paint on my gray plastic grille, I put clearcoat on it, still is shiny, and I did that about 3-4 weeks ago.

well, if the paint has dried completely, you need to scuff it up a bit and mist coat the clear on a few times before spraying a few normal coats. The paint normally needs to be rough or a bit tacky for the clear to bond, or it'll run a lot easier. Don't scuff it up too much, just enough to make it dull. If you have paint left over, I'd spray another coat of it on and then wait 20 min or so and then do the clear, the clear just bonds way easier if the paint is still a little tacky...

since you used acrylic enamel, it kinda defeats the purpose to put a coat of clear over it. not to say that you can't tho..

but if your looking for the clear to help protect it against stone chips & what not, its not gonna help.
