i ran the nut all the way up the bolt and screwed the bolt in place of the original.

the nut functions as a jam nut; tighten it while holdin the bolt in place to secure the caliper bracket. been runnin like this on mine for +50K and no problems.
as a testament to the adjustability, when i went to a 5/7 drop from a 3/4, i also changed tires from 235/60's to 245/50's. the added width put my tires against the lower shock mount once again. a couple twists of the bolt, and retightening the jam nut, and i was back to full turns w/o rubbing!
