I just had an interesting conversation on Mirc earlier. This guy was in there and when he heard me mention that I drive a 94 Ford Ranger, he started going off on me about how a Ranger isn't a truck. After that he had the nerve to tell me that there was no way a 2.3Turbo engine was going to be able to push my truck into the 12's or 13's in the quarter. The next thing I thought was funny was that he told me there was no way I could run 25psi of boost with the engine built up and a good IC on it. He said i'd blow it up as soon as I tried. Next thing was that it couldn't handle the turbo and NOS together. The last thing he said was the funniest. He had the nerve to tell me that turbos and NOS are for pu$$ie$. Kept talking about beating me (after i get my turbo done) that he would have no problem beating me with a "69 camaro with a 504 in it". Sorry, just venting a lil...

i couldn't brag too much on the 2.3T since i don't have one yet, but it was making me wish i did have it so i could put the smack down and earn some respect. I just really hate seeing a fool like that talking bad about my truck and my plans for it. he was asking me if i was going to put a 25x25x18IC in my truck even...like that would fit! he was asking me about different types of IC's and since i could answer his questions (i'm pretty new to the whole turbo thing) he was calling me an idiot and telling me i didn't know anything about engines. i'm not whining or anything like that, just venting because it truely made me mad...

A few more mods to my Ranger and I should be in the high 13's. You should mention to him that the is a pinto with a 2.3 turbo and NOS running 8's!!! I love to race old gear heads. They have no idea what technology can do. As soon as the hear fuel injection or less than 8 cylinders they think it is slow. Next time he says something about intercoolers, give him a link to this page and show him mine. You can also tell him to go to this site.

Oh no we better get him in touch with Reed, huh Jeff? He needs to tell him that so he can stop MAS-producing them to put on 2.3's? Glad I never put a t3/t4 hybrid on my SVO. Oh, wait a minute I need to call the guy I sold the Convertable too. Gotta run, later Doug904.:nuts:

I have a couple questions.
FIrst, Spoolin Ranger, have you taken your truck to a 1/4 strip at all? If so what are you running right now, and what mods do you have on your 2.3T??
IM just curious, cause you have almost the exact same ranger as me. Mine is an 89 ext cab. Im in the planning stages right now, of doing a Twin Turbo SOHC 4.0. My goal is to reach 400 hp, and be able to run mid 13's or so. I was kinda thinking that a mid 13 was a little optimistic. Im also planning on doing head jobs, and P&P on as much as I can. Ive also talked w/ Sven P., and he siad that there are Turbo Cams in the works for the SOHC 4.0, and I might see about getting a pair of those too.
*note*, I plan on running I/C's on both turbo's, and then using a Y pipe to bring the lines together somewhere just before the intake manifold.

I haven't taken my truck to the strip yet. I should be going in the next few weeks. I have to get my 4.10s installed. I have no clue what I am going to run. I'll post the results when I get them.
The tt 4.0 sounds like a good plan. I don't think mid 13's will be that hard to reach. Just lots of tuning. Good Luck on your project.

Well, there will definatly be a lot of tuning. I will slowly work my way up to pul boost. Im kind of hoping that I will be able to go beyond 20 psi, but Im not gonna risk blowing the engine to find out. Im also thinking about running 3:73's w/ an LS in the rear. Possibly a 4:10, but I havent decided yet.
