Hey guys,

I have just purchased a used fogger system from a buddy of mine for cheap. It is good from 75 to 150. It came with all the required parts other than the WOT relay. I was just wondering what precautions are there when running the juice.

here is what i belive to be true let me know if i am right or if i am missing anything.
run colder plugs?
run higher octane gas?
retard the timing 4 degrees when on the bottle?

any help would be appreciated.

i ran a fogger syatem on the 4.0 it worked realy well also. i was pushing around 300hp as i took out my buddys 99 corba 5 speed with flowmasters. but here is the problem it's realy hard to run a fogger system and keep the juice lower then a 25hp shot per cyl. after talking to nos tech we thought we had it reg. for about a 75 shot. then i took out that corba and murdered a few 5.0gt's 3 days later my piston exploded and shot all over the eng. hence the 5.0 swap i'm doing now.
--here is my advice to anyone doing a fogger nitrous system. keep in mind fogger systems are hard to run on the street as with the 25hp per cyl. problem (thats why i was pushing a 150 shot when i thout i was pushing a 75 shot) coun't on it being about a 200hp shot. if your bottem end is built to handle the added power then you might be able to handdle it.
--all the things you listed are true. also there is a realy good read in this issue of dragracer (a mag).
--also send 8Secsplash a pm he has had realy good luck running the juice gotten his 4.0 in to the 12's running it. he knows his stuff.
the giggle gas is fun to play with and i'm thinking about adding a simple plate system under the carb to the 5.0 for a little 75hp kick in the tail. but i'm not sure if i whant to use the high oct. fual. with prices as high as thay are.

Well i am sure that my bottom end is capable of holding together. but why did your piston shatter? I am going to be running a carb. but i don't want to push it. It has been said that fogger systems are for race vechicles. but i got it so cheap. what is the difference between the differnent shots. like bigs shots then there is a plate system. i can definetly make money off this system so i am not to worried about it.

well in a plate systemyou have two jets, one for the n2o and one for added fual. so the jet (the little things that reg the amount of fual or nitrous) can be much larger. in a fogger system you have 2 jets per cyl. that one for the no2 need to be much much smaler.
--i think the problem was it was talking in to much juice for a stock hypotechic (or however it's spelled)bottem end. due to the problem finding out the real shot reading. or to be more accurate the piston failed at the wrist pin and then was prob. beat to death by the connecting rod. thats my thorey after talking apart the eng and looking at it.
--here is what i would do if i were you and in fact i'm doing the same thing. i sold the fogger system that was on my 4.0 to doug904 but keeped the non fogger parts. (bottle, bottle heater, swiches, purge kit,) every thing but the noids and the pluming and the fogger nossals. that way i could save a bunch of cash when i put a plate system on the 5.0. i will only have to buy the plate and the noids. the bottle is worh about $150 alone.
good luck and let is know what you do
