Since I have gotten my Edge, I have been trying to figure out ways to lower it. Through my constant search, I have come up with some information to help myself and other.
Front end: You can lower the front of the truck by loosening the torsion bar bolts. Under your Edge, the two bars that run from the front suspension to a crossmember are the torsion bars.
In the little squarish hole there is a bolt that adjusts the torsion bars. To lower the truck, back the bolt out (counter clockwise).

You can only lower the truck so much by doing this, because the adjusters do not have room to make the truck go much lower. If you remove and flip the adjusters, you can gain a couple more inches of drop.

Now that the front end is lower, you can begin the rear end. To lower the back end of an Edge is like lowering any Ranger. The only differences from the factory are 2" lift blocks, longer u-bolts (for the blocks), and an extra leaf in the leaf pack. To achieve a drop, you can take the blocks out, and purchase shorter u-bolts from Ford, or probably most parts stores. Another option is to flip the axle on top of the leaf springs for about 4" of drop. Since a regular Ranger sits 2-3" lower than the Edge, your Edge will now be close to a regular 4x2 with a 1-2" front drop up front, and about 3" in the rear.
Hopefully this will answer some of the question people have about lowering the Edge/Explorer torsion bar suspension.
Thanks to Ben Hart for the pictures and excellent write up.
