View Full Version : runnin hard line jbhill Jun 18 2003, 01:38pm ive ben told i can use copper for airline. will it work? Ricky Jun 18 2003, 04:01pm copper isn`t a good idea on airline in a air ride set up. There will be just too much vibration. If you want hard line you really need to do stainless line. jbhill Jun 18 2003, 05:41pm i was gona use mounting straps to securly mount it to the frame and such. I think extensive metal works does hard line. ForEvrGrounded Jun 18 2003, 09:21pm Napa is where I got my line and all my connectors -matt jbhill Jun 18 2003, 10:35pm hmm could u post soem pics? what kind of price range we lookinat?? Dragginbalz Jun 18 2003, 11:16pm try here: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM%2D220238 if you want larger, you will probably have to go to a hydraulic(ie. parker) store and get some larger line made up last i heard, extensive(in texas) uses copper lameness! :o) t ForEvrGrounded Jun 19 2003, 01:05am Its just 5 foot sections with unions on each end. Its the same thing you use for hard gas line. -matt Jory Jun 19 2003, 11:10am yea i've saw copper used a lot for air / hydro lines, never heard of anyone having problems wit it. where could i get a flare tool to 1/2" copper or stainless line and all the fittings? ME!!!!! We had lined a tank and compressor and stuff on a Ford and the viration and heat off the compressor made it brittle and it cracked and leaked in a mtter of a day or so. Get Stainless with a fairly thick wall. Ricky slowSplash Jun 19 2003, 06:44pm all the people i know with copper lines haven't had problems. they don't run compressors either... stainless steel sounds like the best way and it'll prolly look better. I've never seen SS line. As far as I know Ekstensive, Extreem Rydes, and Locomotiv all use copper for hard line. I'm sure that if you asked for stainless steel they'd do it, I don't see why they wouldn't. jbhill Jun 19 2003, 07:23pm i just wana go from the valve to the bag just so u see the clean look. i dont think i could go from the tank to there cuz sometimes the tank drags... BlauSplash Jun 20 2003, 05:02pm Originally posted by jbhill i dont think i could go from the tank to there cuz sometimes the tank drags... OH WOW!!! jbhill Jun 20 2003, 05:42pm its a airlift tank that is a 8 port and its moutned upside down under the bed. sometimes goin out of a bump w/ the back a lil down it would drag.... 99black99 Jun 20 2003, 07:23pm ya, ya can use copper, as said before. Big rigs use them all the time....But, if it was mr id use stainless braided air line, if it wasnt a $$ issue. The best place to get that would be at a transport dealer.....save some cash probably BlauSplash Jun 20 2003, 07:42pm Originally posted by jbhill its a airlift tank that is a 8 port and its moutned upside down under the bed. sometimes goin out of a bump w/ the back a lil down it would drag....
