my brakes squeak alot, so i was wondering if i sprayed the rotar and pads down with brake parts cleaner would it hurt the pads?

go ahead and spray the whole assembly,it won't hurt the pads

only thing is that it might smoke for a little while, till the fluid residue burns off the rotor.

just use good cleaner, it should all evaporate before you even put the wheel back on (assuming you'll have it off :))

You'll want the wheel off to avoid damaging the finish with the cleaner. It may not hurt it, but if it was me I wouldn't risk it.

The cleaner may help with the squeaking, but you may need to remove the pads and put some disc brake anti-squeal stuff on them. You can get it for a couple bucks at any auto parts place. You smear it on the back of the pads, let it dry and reinstall them.
