Hi all! New to the board and I love it already.
I'm driving a 94 3.0L five speed manual. I've been trying to find out what the gear ratios are for awhile with no luck. Does anyone know or know where I could find out?
Also, is it very hard to install a tach? Thanks!

If you're wondering about the tranny gears, well, I can't help you there. For your final drive, check the sticker on the drivers door, there will be a an axel code, then look in the manual (near the back) and it will tell you what each code is. TO install a tach, you can go the OEM route, and pick one up from the junkyards. They say they are prewired for them, so you just have to connect them. That is in the newer ones, not sure about the cable driven ones. I hope I helped a little bit.
Oh, and welcome to the boards. I guess since Ted is gone, I'm free to use his tag. :hug:Feel the love . . .

Heres a link to a page that lists all the axle codes:
Axle Codes (http://www.therangerstation.com/Axles.html)
And, no...its fairly easy to install a tach. The hardest part is finding the correct wire to connect the green tach wire to (for an aftermarket tach). On my 97 4.0, it was a tan wire with a yellow stripe. I'm not sure if its the same for the 3.0 or not.
You can check the tag on your rear axle if it's still there. It will have the axle ratio as part of the numbering sequence. Something like 355 xxx for 3.55's, and 3L55 xxx for 3.55 limited slip.

I ahd a tach installed on my 94 3.0 and the wire that you are looking for is the same color (tan with yellow stripe) and you should be able to locate it over by the distribuator on the passanger side of the engine.
