Hey their i have a 1986 ford ranger long box i put in a 1987 2.3 turbo with intercooler and the t-bird 5spd and my truck had a one wheel peel rear end and i put a K&N airfilter on it and a 2.5 inch down pipe and high flow cat and it ends at my tail pipe just after the huge muffler. I ran it at te track and it spun bad and only ran 17.5 in the 1/4 mile and i'm hoping to make it run into the mid 14's. Well one problem i had was traction so out cam my 3:73's in favour of a 4:45 posi unit and it hooks way better now with these gears in it. My other problem is my clutch is like pooched and it's hard to go into gear so i'm switching this in favour of a C-3 3 speed automatic. I hope this will work out better. My other problem is when i take off at idel and give it after 4500 rpms it's nothing their then i hit second with a little chirp and i pulls good till 4500 then it's got nothing in 3rd really it pulls a little pit but it seems like no fuel but if i cruse in 3rd and give it it's got all kinds of go is this my fuel pump in line. or is it the nock sensor. My boost guage does'nt like to work so i dont no what boost i'm at. I need help to run 14s any optins with out nos. My motor is coming out in 3 weeks as tranny is to and i'm rebuilding my motor and want a little more power any ideas no nos thought thanks

Which cam is in it right now? You might try retarding it a little.
What muffler? The Incon guys (Mustang 5.0/4.6 Turbo kits) have picked up as much as 75 horsepower going from Flowmaster to a straight-through design like the Dynomax UltraFlow or Race Magnum.
The C3 doesn't have the greatest reputation, but it should be ok for what you're doing.
What fuel pump are you using now? If you're still running the stock Ranger pump I'd say you're definitely running out of fuel. You can get a high pressure 255lph Walbro in-tank pump for a little over $100, and never have to worry about it, but it would be worthwhile to hook up a fuel pressure gauge where you can see it from the driver's seat and see what's happening under boost.
Are you running the stock (for the 87 TC) ihi turbo? I'd definitely put a T3 (pre-87 TCs, all SVOs, all XR4Tis) on it, and port the exhaust manifold while you're at it.

A few ideas...and just a thought: A little punctuation goes a long way...;)
