fuel pump inertia switch?! need help!

So Its been about a month or so since I bought my 2007 ford ranger, 43,500k,service everything on time, still under warrenty I guess. Anyway just put gas in and I was waiting to turn left at a stop light, my friend in the passenger seat and suddenly the truck just dies. I dont think it was the battery because it turns over fine just about to start but doesnt. I got it towed to a ford dealership so it will be looked at on monday. My friend was telling me something about a fuel pump inertia switch in the passenger foot department. Could that be the problem? Does anyone know much about it/where the switch is located?
Any help would be much apreciated! I love the new ranger and dont see how it could die on me like this!

Maybe it is...pull back the carpet from the firewall, at least on a 1994. Maybe behind the side kick panel on newer models?
