    Painting Vent Visors

Hey, I just bought a set of vent visors. I was wondering if it worth it to paint them. I don't want to paint them and just have them flake off in a month. This is the first time i've done anything like this, so any help would be appriciated.

And where can I find silver paint that will match my truck exactly? I assume my local dealer could sell me a pint, but that sounds like it would be expensive, and I would rather have a spraypaint if possible.

    Thanks in advance

OK, with all the searching I did it looks possible. Seems like I'll need 600 grit sandpaper, paint and clear coat. Anybody have recommondations of paint brands?

Fusion works good. It is specially made to adhere to plastics.

I ended up getting the spray paint stuff they sell at Walmart. I did a test on some scrap plastic and it looks almost identical. I figure with some clear coat, it may pass as decent looking. I just hope they don't start chipping or fading.

I assume youre talking about dupli-color trim paint. i used it to paint my interior. A few words of advice: buy and use the primer first, shake the can (repeatedly) untill youre arm gives out, paint the piece level and keep it level as possible untill they dry, and take youre time-youll probly have to do a few layers, so dont cake the paint on there. just do a thin layer, let it dry. do a thin layer, let it dry. etc.

yea that would save time-it sucks to accidently brush your door panel with a key or somethin, scrape it, and spend the day redoing the whole door panel! where would one get these clear ones from?
