    speedometer jumping

i just replaced my speedo today because the last one didnt work and now the donor one (which is 82K kilometers more than mine) works somewhat.the new one generally reads the correct speed but it tends to jump around quite a bit when i maintain a constant speed. does anyone know what this could be?

Check my thread a few down from this. ABS, Speedo...etc. It could be the sensor discussed there.

    agreed.

the speed sensor may be loose and trippy though it won't set of a light.

Yeah, if you've got a cable sometimes it will have a mild bind and then release which causes the jump. You may be able get by with lubing your cable shaft (gotta pull it all the way out), or just replace it.
