    P1506 code

    iHave had a P1506 code come up two weeks ago and i have replaced the IAC valve after doing some searching on here. Well two weeks later the light has now come back on. I am stumped on what it can be. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Here's what Ford says:

    P1506 - Idle Air Control (IAC) Overspeed Error.

    This DTC is set when the PCM detects engine idle speed that is greater than the desired rpm.

    • IAC circuit short to ground
    • Damaged IAC valve

    Disconnect IAC valve and look for little or no change in engine rpm as an indication of a stuck or damaged valve
    Supercharged 5.0L V8, headers, duals
    4R70W trans, BW4406 F150 manual t-case
    Keypad Entry, LED lock indicators, EATC climate control
    Explorer steering wheel controls, trip computer
    Mach dual media, SSV, Remote 6CD, Roc-Fos amp
    Caddy/SVO rear discs, traction bars, Bilstein 7100's
    ABS cancel switch, Pushbutton dinger mod

    You should also confirm your assumption that the code that is currently stored is the same as the P1506 you got before.
