What's the best way to disable the fuel pump? I need to change my fuel filter and I want to de-pressurize the fuel lines.

when i start my truck in the morning and take off down the drive way the engine pops and misfires a little. but once it warms up it smooths out. im at 84,xxx miles and haven't done plugs, wires, or fuel filter. guess its time??? anyone have any input?
