    Double Din LCD touchscreens?

Do they fit right in? Or do the rounded corners of the bezel get in the way?

All that is needed is to trim the top of the opening. The width is all right its the hole is not high enough.A few seconds with a dremal and they fit.

I installed a Double-DIN unit in my 2005 Ranger and had to remove about 3/16" of material from the top of the opening in my bezel and a few little nubs that were sticking up at the bottom. A Dremel with a cutoff wheel makes easy work of the job.

I also had to make a few modifications to the Metra kit that I used to install my radio. I have an STX and it has an extra power port and a fog light switch on the right side of the bezel. If you have any plugs or switches on your bezel that are not on the standard Ranger bezel you may have to modify the side mounting plates a little. A little Dremel work on the right mounting plate and mine fit in pretty easily.

No. I was looking for a non-motorized unit.

Its going in my 17yo son's Ranger.

Is porn the only thing it'll play? (see the pic?) I've got enough problems.

Do you plan to disable the video function while the vehicle is in gear? That is how they are set up from the get go. Not supposed to play video while in motion (becasue it is illegal). Just wondering..

It'd be nice to have but its gotta stay disabled.

I can just see it now: Truck's in a slow speed chase, police chopper is televising the scene, and you can clearly see into the cab and the DVD playing while in pursuit.

    Just wonder what'd be playing?

theres ways to disable them, how easy it is depends on the unit... i play alot of stuntbike/baja/music videos on mine, doesnt distract me at all, it was worse when listening to my ipod trying to find songs.

I agree. I think finding a good radio station is more distracting than some vids. However, most accident juries would find motounplugged's video distracting. "Case closed. Bailiff, haul him away."

heh, i totally thought about doing that with mine too!

although, i don't think it would really fool anyone. all it takes is a look in the back seat to see an amp rack and fiberglassed box... lol.

I'm going to the local car audio shop today to look at double din screens today, and I really want one.. I know it takes trimming to fit, but if it was to get stolen, would you have to replace it with another double din because of the way you trimmed it? Or could you replace it with the factory radio?

I don't think most people think about their alternative when their current system gets jacked, lol. We all hope it never happens.

Got my screen installed today. Ended up getting the Jensen VM9022. I've got a question about how it fits, though. The bezel that they put on the front of it doesn't fit flush like I see in some of these pictures. What did ya'll do to make it fit right?
