lifts are pretty cheap, around $1500 if you really do this stuff al l the time.

those pics look great, I can't wait to see more. Is the truck you are working on the same truck in your avatar?

I paid $3200 for that lift new. It was the same one that I used daily at the dealership so I didn't want to skimp on a cheap or used one. It's uses are endless...

The red ranger is a 1992 standard cab shortbox. The avatar is my 1990 ex cab. I still have it but it's currently dissassembled.

Yep. It will be a six link. There will be two bars running from the rear of the frame to the axle. The bags will be mounted back there. The bars will be on the outside of the frame rails.

I think it should hit sides pretty good because the link bars and lift bars/bags are on the outsides of the frame rails. Also, I'm using a super pivot where the lift bars attach to the axle.

I'm running a fuel cell as I'm running a 306. Plus it lays frame and the stock tank is too low.

I wanna do my truck the exact same way you are, but with the kp bolt on kit coming back out i just wanna know how much more the kit will cost than the set up you are doing.

It is the Dallas Hotrod watts.
    Four link $360
    Watts link $170
    Lift bars $210
    Upper brackets $40
    Total $780
Man, I really didn't ever think about how much was invested. It was just a hundred here, a hundred there..lol

The notch was $90 and the bags were around $170 I think?

so u did it for about 1/2 the kp kit price and its custom so i'm going this route too. One more thing did u have any problems with the offset differential and watts link placement?

If you look at the pics of the watts, you can see that I notched the passenger side mounts because they partially sat on the differential case. But it wasn't a big deal.

Here is the rear crossmember for the lift bars. The tabs are four inches long. I cut and sunk the inner tab and welded it on the inside also. The outer was just welded to the end of the square tube.
