- Camshafts can be purchased from Camcraft or Delta Camshaft, we have had a few members go these routes and are happy with the results. PLEASE, install new performance valves springs (double springs preffered) if you change to a high lift cam, or rev your engine past 5,800 RPMs or you will have valve float!
Did a little searching and found this. As far as which ones right for you, mainly depends on what you plan on using the truck for.

I talked to cam craft during my rebuild, delta cams didn't come up on google search when I was looking in jan/feb. Anyway, they are pretty unresponsive, and I left polite/detailed/brief messages. It seems to be a family business that has very little interest in out of town 1 time jobs, and by family business, I mean "he's at the dentist today, he's gone fishin', he should be here but he ain't, he blah, blah, blah..."

I ended up taking my cam to get reground at Crower Cams...Francisco was pretty straight up, the price was lower than camcraft, it hasn't blown up yet, so they must have done a good job.

That's the other thing, camcraft no longer has blank cams to grind you a new one, you have to send yours in to be reground.

Goodluck.

There is no real secret, and "your specs" may be crap. Always best to ask for their recommendations. The science is pretty solid and they can take ANY profile and add it to your cam, provided there is enough meat to grind.

Roller profiles are "special", it is best to keep the roller cam, no reason to go backwards in technology for a little duration.

Higher lift is key, higher lift means less meat at the cam's base circle, which means custom pushrods and an adjustable valvetrain (Rogue Rockers!) - nevermind, I already posted it was A LOT OF WORK....
